Anti-piracy work
The web site Responsible Internet ("Ansvarlig Internett") provides information about the differences between legal and illegal file sharing; the background for and purpose of SIMONSEN's assistance; what data is collected and to whom it is disclosed; examples of legal services, etc.
The web site is targeting everyone who gets in touch with file sharing, particularly youth between 15 and 25 and role models such as parents, teachers, IT managers, as well as everyoe else who works with or take interest in a responsible Internet.
The Responsible Internet web site is developed by SIMONSEN, which since 2006 has had a license from the Norwegian Data Inspectorate to "assist rights holders in their efforts to stop illegal reproduction and making available to the public, i.a. on the Internet, of their legally protected works and performances". SIMONSEN is the only entity with such a license from the Data Inspectorate.
In addition to investigations for which SIMONSEN has a license from the Data Inspectorate, SIMONSEN also provide legal services based on our expertise within copyright and other intellectual property rights.
